Volkswagen GEN.TRAVEL Concept
Volkswagen has unveiled the GEN.TRAVEL concept car, a vehicle that previews the future of long-distance travel. The GEN.TRAVEL concept is an all-electric car with a range of up to 372 miles on a single charge. The concept car also features a unique “camper mode” that can be activated to transform the interior into a comfortable living space for two people
The Volkswagen GEN.TRAVEL concept is based on the MEB platform that will underpin all of VW’s future electric cars. The GEN.TRAVEL concept has a length of 4,638 mm (182.7 in), making it slightly longer than a Golf hatchback. The extra length is due to the car’s extended wheelbase, which provides more space for passengers and their luggage.
In camper mode, the rear seats fold down to create a sleeping area for two people. The front seats can also be swiveled around to face the rear of the car, creating a lounge area. The interior can be further transformed by opening up the panoramic sunroof and deploying an integrated table from the passenger-side door panel.
The GEN.TRAVEL concept is powered by an electric motor with an output of 200 PS ( 147 kW). This powertrain gives the car a 0-60 mph time of 8 seconds and a top speed of 93 mph. The battery pack has a capacity of 82 kWh, which enables the car to travel up to 372 miles on a single charge under WLTP conditions
TheGEN.TRAVEL has an active suspension that accounts for vertical and lateral movements such as acceleration, braking or cornering before you even have control of the wheel; AI is also used in tandem with platoons to further increase range on long distance trips where human drivers may become tired from workloads like monitoring traffic conditions ahead while navigating through it all safely at high speeds without crashing into other cars lane markings etc..
